The Chair Project

We are officially heading into a new phase of Arteasy as we submitted our non-profit filing at the end of May 2026. This was a huge milestone, and now that we have the paperwork behind us, we are eager to kick start some fundraising initiatives. It’s hard to believe it, but it has been nearly five years since our first grand opening in October of 2021 in Cheverly!

For our five-year anniversary, we are making some big changes for the better in order to align our business structure more closely with our philosophy as an organization – improve accessibility of the arts for everyone.

The Project: Sponsor a chair, painting it with your own personality and creative vision! We have a set of seven wooden chairs that we will disassemble, scuff sand, paint, and varnish to freshen up these trusty old chairs after 5 years of dedicated service!

The Chair Project is our creative way of celebrating this milestone while engaging  our creative community.

Come make your mark on the seats that literally support us at the studio!

How to Support and/or Get Involved

'Chair' with Friends!

Form a team of friends and family, to sponsor a chair directly! Once you form your team and sponsor your chair, we will work with you to schedule a date and time to come paint your chair with your team. You will have the opportunity to carve your names into the back of the chair, as an everlasting reminder of your contribution.

Kids: Share a Chair

Is your kid an avid Arteasy camp or after school program participant? We've scheduled a drop-off Saturday workshop, for kids to work in teams of 5 to design and paint their very own chair! A great way to have a lasting impact on the studio -- and a story to show-and-tell their friends every time they visit!

Sponsor Community Collaboration

Are you a business, foundation, or a patron of local arts? If you’d like to sponsor a chair towards a free community painting endeavor, we’d love your support. For donations over $150, the donor’s name will be carved on the back of the chair, and it will painted at a free community day! This is a great way to give back to Arteasy and the community -- supporting our vision of barrier-free arts access.

Thank you for your support! This is a really exciting but critical time for Arteasy’s journey and growth in the neighborhood. We’re hoping to raise $5,000 over the summer period in order to meet critical operations costs: our kiln, 501c3 submission costs, staffing in order to provide affordable summer programming. We welcome your support and participation in this exciting endeavor!
