Our Saturday Art Explorations are a drop-off kids workshop (ages 5-8 recommended) where kids have a self-guided, instructor supported art project to work on.
Each month we will aim to host one of these sessions, typically on Saturday mornings before our 2pm Open Studio time.
For July 11, we will be working on our fundraising project --and kids will be invited to come decorate one of our studio chairs. See below for an overview of options and logistics for Share a Chair!
During our monthly Saturday Arts Exploration session on July 11th, they will design and paint a chair, as part of a group of 5 kids. Each student will leave with the satisfaction of having painted a piece of studio furniture that they can then visit whenever they come back in!
After the chairs dry, studio staff will apply a protective coating, and carve each kid's name into the back of the chair as a lasting indicator of their contribution!
You can register your child as a ‘free agent’, and we will group them with other students, or you can register for a ‘team’ of up-to 5 kids, who will collaborate on a single chair!
Fees:
This is a fundraising event, so fees are higher than our normal Saturday fees! This Saturday is also an hour longer than our other Saturday Art Exploration offerings, so we have time for a base coat, drying, and a top coat of designs or stencil work!
We will have time for lunch, so please pack a lunch or snacks!
Please ensure your child wears clothing that can get messy! We have aprons, but mess has a way to evade aprons when creativity is at its height.
