Upcycled Necktie Brooches & Bows Workshop

Give new life to old neckties in this creative, beginner-friendly workshop! Participants will learn how to transform recycled neckties into stylish brooches and decorative bows that can be worn or added to bags, hats, or clothing.

The class will cover simple design techniques, fabric folding, shaping, and finishing methods to turn everyday materials into unique wearable art. All materials will be provided, including upcycled neckties, basic sewing supplies, pins, and embellishments. Participants are also welcome to bring their own neckties if they’d like to personalize their piece.

The workshop will be led by Ms. TeeKay (Tamara), a Baltimore-based multidisciplinary artist and founder of Tamshandcrafts. With over 25 years of experience in handmade arts, upcycled fashion, and textile design, she enjoys helping others explore creativity while learning practical techniques to transform everyday materials into meaningful, one-of-a-kind pieces.
