December 7 Journal Making Class (Book Arts!)

This class is part of our "Sunday Crafternoon" series - where we offer classes across the various mediums that we have available in our studio! Our sliding scale pricing aims to improve accessibility of structured, instructor-led classes. You can continue exploring any of the mediums taught during our Sunday Crafternoon series during our open studio hours!

Book Arts Introductory Class. This class provides a beginner's introduction to book arts with guided instructions to make two basic books: a mini Japanese stab journal and a simple mini saddle stitch journal. There will be a variety of book covers to choose from, including ecoprinted paper using sustainably sourced materials from the Baltimore area.
No previous experience required, and you will walk away with two personal, hand-made journals, which are perfect for capturing your own tasty creations or to give as a gift.
Bookmaking includes sewing, hole-punching using a sharp awl, and some careful measuring skills. Space in the classroom is limited to registered participants. The cost of the workshop includes all provided materials and hands-on instruction.
